Saint Hilda's House

through the gates and into the city

Samuel vaught

I came to Saint Hilda’s House to explore further a call to ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church. After four years of college and academic study, I wanted to be immersed in a more service-oriented community that sought to address the needs of the world from an intentional Christian perspective. I am excited to see what direction my discernment takes as I live in a community of Christians with diverse backgrounds and expectations for our life together.

Sam grew up in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and stayed in his hometown to attend Wabash College, a small liberal arts college for men. He graduated in May of 2016 after studying religion and classics. During his time at Wabash, he sang in the Glee Club and contributed to the musical life of the College on the piano and organ. He also wrote for the campus newspaper, The Bachelor, and organized Morning Prayer for students and faculty. Upon graduation he worked for a summer with the Iona Community in western Scotland.
